SK Hynix Expects AI Memory Market to Grow by 30% Annually Until 2030
SK Hynix executives predict that the market for high-bandwidth memory (HBM) dedicated to AI will continue to grow at a rate of 30% annually until 2030. HBM, which improves energy efficiency through vertical stacking technology, has become a core component for processing large-scale AI data. The company is competing with Samsung and Micron in the development of the next-generation HBM4, which will integrate customized logic chips to enhance customer loyalty. Despite Samsung's warning about potential oversupply in HBM3E, continued investment in AI by cloud computing giants is expected to drive demand. Current major clients such as NVIDIA have already secured orders.
